Delivery & Returns

It's our intention to deliver great products that you'll love. Our delivery and returns policy is intended to be fair and to ensure your rights are protected.

Delivery

In most instances we send products by UK Royal Mail though, depending on the delivery address and value of items, we may use alternative freight services.

We currently only sell within mainland UK though, in special circumstances, it may be possible for us to deliver to other regions. Please contact us and will do our best to advise you in either instance.

We will endeavour not to accept orders where delivery is not possible and, in cases where an order has been accepted but delivery is later deemed impossible, any money taken will be refunded in full.

If a customer cancels their order prior to it being dispatched, we will also refund transactions in full. If the order has been dispatched, the customer must ensure goods are returned to Modern English in perfect, unused, condition in order to be eligible for a refund of the product only (excluding postage).

Returns

We want you to be completely satisfied with your online order and our service. As such, we accept the return of any product providing it is in its original condition, and packaging, and providing you notify us of its unsuitability within 10 days of receipt.

Please note: shipping and handling fees are non-refundable - and cost of return shipping must be borne by customers. Also note, our returns policy does not extend to sale items unless otherwise stated.

Return or Exchange of Sale Items

Sale mechanisms (such as the 'Pay What You Want' Sale) are intended to clear Modern English stock and offer significant savings on our products - often less than the cost to manufacture. As such, no refunds or exchanges will be offered on sale items unless they are proven to be faulty. In cases where items are proven to be faulty, the cost of purchase will be fully refunded.

Return Instructions

To return an item purchased via our website, securely pack and seal it in a shipping box, along with a printed copy of your purchase receipt.

Additionally, please inform us of the item's return by EMAIL, quoting your order number and the postal tracking number.

Once your returns have been received by us, your refund will be processed within seven business days. Please note, for goods that are not received back by Modern English, no refund will be processed unless proof of postage can be provided.

If you are returning more than one item, each item may be refunded to your bank account as a separate transaction. You will be notified via email once the return transaction has taken place. Please note that your banking institution may require additional days to process and post this transaction to your account.

We reserve the right to deny a full refund if return merchandise does not meet our return policy’s requirements.

Price Adjustments

Modern English will honour the original price paid for any item as long as proof of purchase can be provided by the customer.

Exchanges

At this time, we cannot automatically process exchanges via our website. To exchange an item, please return the original item you purchased to us, requesting a refund. Then place a new order via the website.

Faulty Items

Your item will be considered faulty if it is received damaged by you, or a manufacturing fault occurs. Items damaged as a result of normal wear will not be considered faulty. Wherever possible, we will replace faulty items or refund the price you paid.
